Thai King Spearhead Cousin’s Cremation

Despite his frail health, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 84, ventured out in a wheelchair to bid farewell to Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda in an opulent cremation ceremony in Bangkok. Princess Bejaratana, only son of King Rama VI, died from a blood infection at the age of 85 in July last year, and had lain in state at the Dusit Maha Prasart Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. The royal chariot where her urn was placed was pulled by 200 men. The photos below details the solemn ceremony.
