Well...I can officially state that I prefer to read other people's blogs than write my own, but I thought I would attempt to write a post to tell my husband Clint how much I love being his wife. It's OK if I'm 10 days late!
I really and truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world being married to Clint. No matter what I'm doing, I am always happier if Clint is there too. He is funny and smart and interested in so many things. I hope our girls get a love of learning from their daddy. Clint is such a happy person too...loves to read, watch tv, go to the movies, play video games, play softball, go out to eat, go to zoos, go to theme parks, visit with family, go to museums, parades...you name it...Clint is up for it and will make everyone he is with have more fun. My little cousins in south Florida adore him. (What teenager doesn't love a grown man who can rock out to Taylor Swift?!). =) And I definitely adore Clint as well...Happy Anniversary to my wonderful hubby! Love you soo, soo much!! The last 5 years have been better than I could have ever imagined! Two beautiful daughters later and my heart is completely full. I feel so blessed to be a part of a family with so much love and laughter.
Cards from Clint, my parents, my ever so thoughtful friend Alana, and Clint's mom
We always like to go out of town for anniversary, but this year we were already traveling to Windmark Beach/Port St Joe/Mexico Beach area for a wedding...so we made a weekend out of it and decided that would be our anniversary trip too. We didnt take too many pictures because we were busy with two little ones...but we made some great memories. The Driftwood Inn (www.driftwoodinn.com) in Mexico Beach is my new favorite vacation spot. It was right on the water with gardens in between and a playground right outside our window for Lily Kate. The office had a giant friendly Great Dane and a talking parrot. Lily was in love. Unfortunately, the girls weren't feeling too well, so we didn't get much rest...but we've come to expect such in life with kids age 2 and 8 months old. Sleeping in on the weekends is a distant memory!
My parents gave us a giftcard to The Front Porch Restaurant (Old Chez Pierre) and the invaluable gift of free babysitting. Our anniversary was Friday May 3rd, but it worked out for us to go on Sunday, May 5th. We enjoyed a few beers, the low country boil, gumbo, fish, bread, and lava cake for dessert. We sat outside on the deck and it was so relaxing. Thanks mom and dad!!
On our actually anniversary, Clint surprised me with some beautiful calla lilies. I just got him an itunes gift card. We like to keep gifts small, and spend our money on short getaways for our anniversary instead.
May 3rd came and went, but it was a nice reminder as always for Clint and I to take time out for each other and remember all the reasons we fell in love. We are hoping to do it big next year and go to Europe for the first time together-- just the two of us! I'll be done nursing well before then and my mom will be retired, so I'm really hoping we can swing it!!
Thanks for a great anniversary, Clint! I love you!!!
