CLARENCE HOUSE: The Prince Charles held a meeting with the National Trust for Scotland.


BUCKINGHAM PALACE: The Countess of Wessex received Mr. David King upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief Executive of the Shooting Star Chase and Mr. David Burland upon assuming the appointment. She later attended a meeting with the Dyslexia Action.

The Princess Royal visited the London Boat Show and attended a Luncheon at ExCel London. In the evening, she held a dinner for the l'Arche Edinburgh "Coming of Age" Appeal at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

KENSINGTON PALACE: The Duke of Gloucester received Lieutenant Colonel Richard Lyne upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of 3rd Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment, and Lieutenant Colonel Paul Morris upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Gloucester off for a tour in Malta

In line with the celebrations for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Prince Richard Duke of Gloucester arrived in Malta, April 13, to mark the 70th anniversary of the award of George Cross to Malta, the Times of Malta reports.

Buckingham Palace

Queen Elizabeth II received newly appointed lieutenant governors: General Sir John McColl (Jersey), Air Marshal Peter Walker (Guernsey) and Mr. Adam Wood (Isle of Man).

The Queen also received Lady McColl, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Wood, as well as Mr. David Dawson during the Insignia of the Order of Merit worn by the late Mr. Lucien Freud. Present was Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit).

The Duke of York toured SAIC Motor UK, Technical Centre Limited, Lowhill Lane, Birmingham. He was received by Colonel Anthony Griffiths (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands). He later paid a visit to Manufacturing Technology Centre, Pilot Way, Ansty Business Park, Coventry. He received by Mr. Hamish Gray-Cheape (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire). 

In the afternoon, he went to the Penso Consulting Limited, Woodhams Road, Coventry.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, held a Start Partners Meeting at Clarence House in the morning.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Anglian Regiment, welcomed General Sir John McColl (Colonel).
