5 on Tuesday

Since it's now officially 12:30 am on Tuesday morning, and I am not tired at all...I thought I'd make a "5 on Tuesday" post.

1) I am very thankful for my best friend, Jess. I'm not one of those who likes to post something I'm thankful for everyday in November on facebook (because I already feel like I blow up people's news feeds enough with random LK and B
C pictures)...but if I were posting today...it would say Day 4: I am thankful for my best friend, Jess. Even though she is 6 hours away, we typically text each other 5-10 times a day. Any frustration, joy, random thought, complaint, joke, etc can always be sent to her and I know she'll always write me back to share in my sentiment. I'm not sure what I would do without her love and support!

2) I've had a strange motivation to clean and organize lately. And no...I'm definitely not pregnant or nesting! Unfortunately, even being pregnant could not turn me into a clean freak for 9 months. It's just not my personality. No OCD here. I'm sure I have quirks about certain things...but I've never been a perfectionist, neat freak, control freak, etc. So anyway, I had some motivation while I was home today and my mom was watching the girls to clean out the garage and prepare for my second ever garage sale. This mood strikes very infrequently, so I had to run with it! I found at least 50 items to sell and haven't even tackled the clothes yet. I was saving a lot of my nicer girl clothes that both have outgrown for my friend Tera in case she had a girl. A perfect and adorable boy was born last month...so I guess these clothes can be donated to the garage sale pile. As far as I know, I have three other pregnant friends right now, and none are finding out the sex...so I have a lot of clothes with no where to go. I have already over-loaded baby Emma with way more wardrobe than Meagan has room to store. Anyway, come on out to our garage sale on Saturday if you want to peruse my junk stuff....or feel free to bring a table and the stuff you need to get rid of too!

3) Speaking of my garage sale...in getting ready for it today and posting about it on Instagram, facebook, Tallahassee Online Yardsale, and Craigslist... I realized I could NEVER enjoy selling jewelry/make-up/bags/candles/body wraps/cookware etc. for the various companies out there. I posted my yard sale info on four places and immediately felt uncomfortable soliciting all of my social media friends to come look at my items or even to come sell their own. I have a lot of respect for my friends who do have the personalities to make sales pitches and really promote their products with business savvy, but I couldn't do it. I used to do a lot of private math tutoring, but I never had to seek out business. I ended up turning a lot of it down because I didn't have the time. So, tutoring always felt like I was helping someone. Making sales pitches for non-essential  items in a downward economy takes a lot of confidence in my opinion. I respect those who can make a living this way and put themselves out there to keep their sales up.

Although I dont want to sell these kind of products, I must say I love my beauticontrol microderm abrasion set, my monogrammed 31 bags, my premier necklaces, and tonight I ordered a really pretty night light candle warmer for the guest bathroom from Scentsy. My cousin Meagan just started selling it, so she brought everything over for Dawn and I to look at it. It is really good stuff! I hope Meagan enjoys selling it, I respect her so much for staying home with Emma and doing this kind of work on the side. :)

4) I am happy to report that my die-hard FSU fan of a husband has agreed to tape and delay watching the FSU away game at noon on Saturday, so that I can do what I want with the day. That includes a yard sale from 8-11:30 and then heading over to Bristol, FL for an afternoon at the train museum. I stumbled upon this info in an Early Steps email I received (from when Lily qualified for Occupational Therapy services) and thought it looked like a great way to spend a Saturday. The alternative Saturday-during-football-season-plans are always me trying to occupy the girls and do chores while Clint hangs out with his friends and watches football for anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. (Does anyone else's husband/boyfriend think POST-tailgating after big wins is a thing?!?! I'm not a fan of this...) Anyway, here is the website to the train day in case anyone is interested.

Its a full hour west of Tallahassee, but as a one-time thing, I hope it will be worth it. Please join us if you can!!!

5) Hmm...I don't really have a 5th thing readily on my mind, other than I have tentatively planned out Lily's 3rd birthday party. Our house. Umizoomi theme. Math-inspired activities with patterns, digging for certain colors/shapes, and maybe decorating or painting pictures of numbers and hanging them up in a numberline type thing on a clothesline. Not sure if that sounds like the dorkiest party ever...but Umizoomi is Lily's favorite show and it happens to be about math skills. I'll have to look up Umizoomi party ideas on pinterest sometime. Oh how I wish that website wasn't blocked at work! ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read my random thoughts...I guess I'm off to bed!
